About the Artist

Science, art and technology live in Dave’s artwork that bridge the worlds of the human imagination, virtuality and real life. A digital artist and sculptor, Dave uses computer software to generate three-dimensional forms that “allow me to visualize the conceptual and aesthetic qualities of the work throughout its development.” He received the National Science Foundation’s International Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge Award in 2010. That summer, he was also the Science Museum of Minnesota’s Distinguished Fellow and Visiting Artist. He exhibits from coast to coast. In addition, his artwork has been featured in The New York Times, Sculpture Magazine, National Geographic, Science and GameScenes: Art in the Age of Videogames. He teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in the School of Art and Design.
